1. The weight of the parts that the system will be moving.
2. The dimensions of the parts that the system will be moving.
3. The size of the floor area where the system will be installed.
4. The height of the building where the system will be installed. If the ceiling is high enough, there is an opportunity to build the system on two or even three levels which could save a lot of space.
5. The material and the load capacity of the floor where the system will be installed.
6. The preferable cycle time, meaning the amout of time to complete the operation in minutes and seconds.
7. Whether or not the system should be completely automated or if it should also include areas with undriven lines.
8. When in need of a buffer system, you should include the size of the buffer. See example of an OCS buffer system.
9. A CAD drawing, or technical drawing, of the building where the system will be installed.
10. A sketch of the desired conveyor system according to you. This is not necessary but a very helpful document to include if possible.
